专利说明:

Due essentially to the proliferation of blood-borne diseases, such as AIDS, Hepatitis, etc., various devices have been developed, which aim to provide a simplification in the removal and replacement of the scalpel blade, and that propose both solutions that affect the conformation of the scalpel itself, as to external devices that simplify its removal and replacement. Among these patents we can mention Australian Patent 64111/90, or European Patents 569233, 1009301 or 779797, as well as US Patents 4998334 and 5361902.
However, most of the known antecedents have certain disadvantages or disadvantages in their application. On the one hand, many of them require the use of an external device, which translates into the need for sterilization, since otherwise its use would not be feasible in the case of removal and replacement during a surgical intervention; others require the use of both hands, or the performance of complicated operations that distract attention from the essential point that is the surgical intervention.
To avoid the aforementioned problem, both in relation to the safety in the removal and replacement of blades in scalpels, and the derivative of the use of external devices, such as the risk of accidental fall of the blade, the present invention proposes a scalpel with pusher safety, which allows the expulsion of the blade without manipulating it and prevents accidental or involuntary operation of the blade removal system, and improves its operation, so that without previously operating this safety system, simple but effective operation, it is impossible to remove the blade, which also makes it impossible to accidentally drop it.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The scalpel handle with safety pusher that the present invention proposes constitutes an obvious solution to provide complete safety in the handling, expulsion and replacement of scalpel blades and thereby contributes to the reduction of the risk of accidents in the handling of blades, guaranteeing, in turn, the safety of the professional by not having to handle it once used, and, the safety of the patient by preventing the accidental fall of the blade.
For this, a scalpel with a safety pusher has been designed, consisting of the following parts:
- Scalpel handle (1). 5 - Pusher (2) piece of compact steel that is inserted in the handle of the scalpel (1) holding by means of 2 pins (3) and (4).
The pusher (2) has at its upper end, a longitudinal hole (5) whose lower part is configured by an irregular polylobed shape formed by three semicircles, the upper 10 (6), the opposing half (7) and the lower one of safety (8), which allows the shaft or pin (3) to be housed in three positions. In such a way that the imaginary axis of the lower safety semicircle (8) is below the imaginary axis of the middle semicircle (7) which determines the existence of a projection (11) of the end thereof, in relation to the lower semicircle (8) delimiting safe accommodation in the
15 semicircle (8) of the shaft or pin (3). Below the lower semicircle (8), a cut (9) has been made at the base (10) of the hole (5).
Likewise, the pusher (2) has at its rear end another longitudinal hole (13) with a protrusion at its base and another cut (14) has been made in the base (15) of the hole 20 (13).
For normal operation of the pusher, it is acted upon by pressing with the thumb on the projection of the pusher (16) forward taking the axis from its fixed position in the semi-circle (8) making it vascular between the opposing semicircles (6) and (7 ) so that the
25 tab (19) lift the blade (18) freeing it from its position and by pushing it forward the head of the blade (17) exerts pressure on the blade (18) by expelling the blade that emerges from the scalpel.
In the case of the present invention, the pusher is locked thanks to the pressure 30 exerted by the projections (14A and 11) of the bases (10) and (15) of the holes or longitudinal grooves (5 and 13) when returning to its original position.
For the release of the shafts or pins (3) and (4) allowing the pusher (2) to travel, pressure must be exerted on the pusher (2) by tilting as a zig-zag, 35 first forward, moving with with respect to the secure housing that forms the lower semicircle (8) and freeing from the shoulder (11); then downwards by moving the pusher with respect to the axis (3) towards the housing delimited by the middle semicircle (7); and finally back forward by moving the pusher (2) with respect to the
axis (3) towards the housing delimited by the upper semicircle (6). Once in said position, the pusher (2) can run freely with respect to the axes (3) and (4).
The pressure of the safety system can be varied by acting on the bases (10) and (15) of the
5 holes or grooves (5) and (13), by simple hand pressing to leave a tighter groove, or by slightly opening the bases to obtain a looser groove.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS 10
To complement the description that is being made, and in order to help a better understanding of the characteristics of the invention, a set of drawings, in which, with character, is attached to the present descriptive report, as an integral part thereof. Illustrative, and not limiting, the following has been represented:

20 pusher, and blade. Figure number 4.- Shows an elevation view of the pusher and the scalpel in an exploded manner. Figure number 5.- Shows an elevation view of the pusher and scalpel handle assembly as a step following that of Figure 4. 25 Figure number 6.-Shows an elevation view of the assembly, indicating the direction of the pressure for system operation. Figure number 7.-Shows a detail view of the head of the pusher and the hole (5) where the projection and the cut of the piece can be seen Figure number 8.-Shows a detail view of the hole (13) of the pusher where you can see the projection and the cut of the piece,
Figure number 9.- It shows a detail view of the flange (19) that is inserted below the blade out of position to be subsequently displaced by the pusher.
PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
The scalpel in its final arrangement presents the handle (1) with the pusher (2) held by 5 the two pins (3) and (4) with the blade in position (18).
The pusher (2) is blocked thanks to the pressure exerted by the base of the longitudinal hole (5) together with the shoulder (11) that forms the middle semicircle (7) on the shaft or pin (3).
To proceed with the change of the blade, pressure is exerted on the pusher (2) that is zig-zag, first forward, moving with respect to the axis of the secure housing of the lower semicircle (8) and overcoming the shoulder (11) ; then down by moving the pusher with respect to the axis (3) towards the housing delimited by the
15 half semicircle circumference (7); and finally back forward by moving the pusher
(2) with respect to the axis (3) towards the housing delimited by the upper semicircle (6). Once in said position, the pusher (2) can move freely with respect to the axes (3) and (4).
20 Thanks to the cuts (9) and (14), made in the base or bottom (10) and (15) of the longitudinal holes (5) and (13) when pressing the pusher the base of the holes flex to give way to the axes to their safe position by listening to a "clip", when it reaches that position by returning the base of the pusher to its initial position, it prevents the exit of the axes of the holes by exerting pressure with the hand to leave one more hole adjusted, or
25 by slightly opening the bases (10) Y (15) of the holes (5) and (13), to obtain a looser groove the pressure of the safety system is regulated.
Once this operation has been carried out and free of its safety position, the pusher (2) acts on the shoulder (16) and, when pushed forward, moves through the 30 grooves (5) and (13) with respect to the axes or pins (3) and (4) and the head thereof
(17) lifts the blade (18) from its position by means of the tab (19) that comes out and moves from its location.
